I have been making my green beans this way for as long as I can remember. For this recipe, I used purple long beans, yellow wax beans and green beans. This could be a main dish or a side dish. It’s fairly easy and quick. You can do this with or without bacon, but the bacon is the entirety of the salt content.

Three Sisters Stew is the epitome of Native American cooking. Squash/pumpkin are native to the United States. It’s called three sisters stew because the three crops were grown together, usually in the same row: corn, beans, squash. There are a great many versions of this stew, this is my version.
